The interiors of Adalia House were designed entirely by us to feel warm, individual and full of character. The strength and solidity of the in-situ concrete walls are softened by rich timber, textured furnishings, carefully chosen lighting and an eclectic collection of artwork, creating a home that feels both striking and welcoming.
Art is central to the personality of the house. We commissioned the pictures and framed them ourselves, including two dramatic oversized artworks that cleverly conceal the entrances to the television room and office. Each piece introduces colour, warmth and interest while providing distinctive backdrops for events, photography and filming.
We also personally selected the lighting throughout the house, patios, decks and swimming pool. Integrated LED lighting can change colour to create a different mood for each occasion. As evening arrives, the concrete surfaces reflect and absorb the changing light, transforming the living areas, hallways, outdoor spaces and illuminated pool into atmospheric settings filled with colour and warmth.
During the day, natural light pours through the house, highlighting the artwork, timber finishes and sweeping metal-and-timber staircase. The expansive hallway creates striking perspectives, while two sun-filled balconies offer wide views across Onepoto Domain and sunsets that have to be seen to be believed.
